The Most Vulnerable in Society

Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: “I and the one who sponsors an orphan will be like these two in Paradise,” and he gestured with his index and middle fingers, holding them slightly apart. (Sahih al-Bukhari)

Orphaned children, especially those in Yemen, are among the most vulnerable in society. Conflict, disease and hunger have left over a million children alone and scared, with very little support. The lives that they once knew vanished – all that remains are the memories of a distant past where they once had the comfort of their parents who provided for them in the form of food, water, shelter and care.

Today, they are forced to grow up without the warm embrace of a parent. They’re vulnerable and exposed to exploitation and abuse. Without urgent support, their future remains very bleak and some do not survive on their own.

Mercy Relief are caring for thousands of orphans, but sadly there are many more who are urgently waiting for a sponsor to come forward and change their life.

A simple £25 per month orphan sponsorship can provide food, clothes, medical care, clean water, and shelter for these desperate orphans, ultimately bettering their quality of life.
