This Charity Week, two brave students Rafee Haq and Junaid Ahmed are putting their hair on the line for a cause that truly matters!
At the Charity Week Dinner on Wednesday 28th October, one brave (and slightly unlucky) brother will have his head shaved — depending on yourdonations!
But behind the fun and laughter lies a powerful purpose…
Charity Week 2026: Real Relief on the Ground
This Charity Week, university Islamic Societies across the UK are coming together with one purpose: to deliver real relief directly to those who need it most.
Partnering with Mercy Relief UK, we are raising funds for two vital humanitarian responses:
Yemen Bakeries: A Simple Loaf. A Life Saved
For many displaced families in Yemen, a loaf of bread is the only solid food they will eat all day.
After ten years of conflict, over 17 million people face acute hunger. Bread has gone from an everyday staple to a luxury, but with your support, a mother can come to our bakery knowing her children will eat tonight.
Mercy Relief's bakeries bake fresh bread every day for families who have nothing else. They also employ local workers, so the people feeding their neighbours can feed their own families too.
Gaza Mobile Clinics
The healthcare crisis in Gaza remains severe. With 94% of healthcare facilities damaged or destroyed, over 2 million people are left relying on a small number of partially functioning hospitals.
Mercy Relief's mobile clinics travel directly into displacement camps, bringing qualified doctors, nurses, and essential medicine to families who cannot reach a medical facility.
How You Can Help
Yemen Bakeries:
£60: Bread for up to 500 people
£120: Bread for up to 1,000 people
Gaza Mobile Clinics:
£50: One complete medical consultation
£200: Essential, life-saving medication
£1,000: A full day of mobile clinic operations, treating approximately 70 patients
£10,000: A complete mobile clinic operational cycle, covering medical staff, vehicles, and essential medicine
